Acrylic vs. Gel Extensions: A Miami Girl's Guide

At Pink Polish Nail and Lashes, we offer both acrylic and gel nail extensions, and clients often ask which option is better. The truth is, both have their place — it all depends on your preferences and lifestyle.

Acrylic nails are created by mixing a liquid monomer with a powder polymer, which hardens when exposed to air. They are incredibly strong and durable, making them ideal for those who are hard on their hands. Our acrylic full sets start at just $50.

Gel extensions, including our popular Apres Gel-X sets, use a pre-shaped gel tip that is adhered to the natural nail and cured under an LED lamp. They tend to look more natural and are lighter than acrylics. Our Gel-X sets start at $75.

For Miami's active lifestyle, here is our recommendation: if you work with your hands a lot or prefer very long nails, go with acrylics. If you want a more natural look and lighter feel, gel extensions are the way to go.

Hard gel is another option that falls between the two. It is applied like gel but is nearly as strong as acrylic. Our hard gel full sets start at $72.

No matter which option you choose, our skilled technicians will ensure a flawless application. We take pride in creating nails that are not only beautiful but also comfortable and long-lasting.
